Seedlings ( MAMJ - 4/24 )
A farming themed card game made for Minigame a Month Jam - April 2024.
Controller Support
Keyboard controls:
A button - 'Z'
B button - 'X'
D Pad - Arrow Keys
Start Button - Enter/Return
Players plant seeds and end their turn with a germination phase. Once the seed has had proper time to germinate it will sprout into a seedling which can be used to battle your opponent's seedlings or your opponent's life points directly.
Farmer abilities may also be played to affect the game; buff or revive your seedlings, destroy your opponent's planted seeds, even halt their germination for a turn.
Win the duel by bringing your opponent's life points to zero or when they run out of cards.

Interesting spin on a card game, overall it is a nice idea! Few things I’d have liked better as a card game player:
Not sure if just missed, but it would be nice to see the effect of the opponents card. It would be nice to see my own seeds face side up. Delay on card activation till effect happening seems a bit too much.
Sadly I did crash after watering an Aspargus? (1,4 green plant). It applied the effect, but before my attack phase happened it black screened.
Msx and sfx is way too loud on base level, please double check that before publishing. Art is cute, has a nice charm to it. Def. will keep an eye on this, always interested in more card games, nice entry!

Crashes on me mid game with black screen. Aside from that nice little game.
Sorry to hear, do you remember what happened leading up to the crash? I had a friend playtesting for me before the jam ended and he had the same bug two games in a row, right after he plays a card the game crashes, that I haven't been able to replicate in over a dozen games. I know there's a bug there but I can't find where, if you have any extra info it would be appreciated.
It wasn't a specific card with him either, just kind of randomly after playing a card the game would crash. I'll keep trying to look for what's causing this, thanks.
This also just happened to me, it occurred during the enemy's turn after using a watering can. Hope this helps!
